WYZA builds on travel success with new senior TRAVEL appointment

WYZA Limited, Australia’s leading digital discovery platform for Australians over 50, today announced the appointment of Mr Marty Byrne to the newly created role of General Manager Travel.

CEO & Founder Michael Farley said: “WYZA’s subscription database has been growing at a stunning rate, tripling in size over the last 18 months to over 260,000 people over 50.   

“Travel is the clear No 1 leisure pursuit for the WYZA audience with more than three quarters of our audience stating they intend to book a holiday within the next year, either in Australia or overseas.”

“Marty’s appointment to the role of General Manager Travel brings deep sales and marketing experience to the WYZA team,” said Mr Farley.

Mr Byrne has spent 25 years driving sales and marketing efforts within the airline, travel retail, corporate and wholesale sectors. With a distinguished career spanning national and international companies, Mr Byrne has held leadership positions including National Travel Manager, Sales Manager and Sales Marketing Manager for organisations that include Qantas Business Travel, Royal Brunei Airlines and most recently specialised in over-50s travel with National Seniors (an advocacy group for older Australians). 

A recent research study* conducted by WYZA found that far from winding down, people over 50 are still forward and outward looking – wanting to travel, get or stay healthy, explore and buy new things or switch things up. They feel younger than their age: 60 is the new 40.
